Southwood Middle School

For the Southwood Middle School project, executive oversight was provided for all preconstruction and construction management functions through successful project closeout. Responsibilities included leadership of the preconstruction phase, ensuring proper alignment of design documents, scope development, budget formulation, and overall project delivery strategy in accordance with district requirements and educational facility standards.

Comprehensive cost estimating services were developed and maintained throughout the preconstruction process, including detailed quantity analysis, pricing validation, and value engineering assessments to support accurate budget establishment and informed decision-making. Logistics planning was implemented to coordinate site utilization, phasing strategies, material staging, and sequencing of construction activities within an active school environment, with emphasis on safety, accessibility, and minimal disruption to ongoing operations.

Client contract negotiations were managed to establish clear contractual scope, define risk allocation, and ensure compliance with all governing procurement and public-sector requirements. Subcontractor and vendor procurement activities included competitive bidding, scope review, bid leveling, and execution of trade contracts and purchase agreements to ensure cost-effective and compliant project delivery.

Throughout construction, ongoing budget control and financial management were maintained, including cost tracking, forecasting, and implementation of corrective measures to ensure adherence to approved project funding. The operations team was directed and coordinated to ensure efficient field execution, schedule compliance, and resolution of construction-related challenges.

The project was successfully completed through structured preconstruction planning, disciplined cost management, and effective coordination of all stakeholders, resulting in a fully delivered educational facility meeting all contractual and operational objectives.
